Sorry, everyone, but that time is sadly approaching — the final days of sweet, sweet summer. We hope you took full advantage of the fine weather and fun events of the season, but if you did, that means you must have done quite a bit of driving. If that is indeed the case, we have just a few simple end-of-summer car care tips to help you and your vehicle transition into the coming cold with ease.
Empty the trunk
Whether your cargo area is stuffed with golf clubs, boogie boards, tents, fishing poles, or any other combination of summer-fun gear, chances are all that stuff is weighing you down and adding to your fuel bill. Pack it away nicely and promise it can come back out to play in a few (hopefully short) months.
Check the tires
All that driving isn’t easy on the wheels, even if it’s easy on your peace-of-mind. Check that your tires are still street-safe; you can do so easily by inserting a quarter head-first into the tread of your tires. If you can see the top of Washington’s head, your tires probably need to be replaced.
Replace the wiper blades
Bad weather’s a-coming — don’t get stuck in a fall squall without the proper equipment. New wiper blades are inexpensive and can mean a world of difference during harsh driving conditions.
If your car requires any service, in addition to this end-of-summer car care (maybe your tires didn’t pass the quarter test), give Dan Young’s service department a call today — we’re here for you!
