Loss and loneliness. I thought the setting was appropriate. It’s an old, small, little town that was destroyed in a flash-flood. Often I feel like loss is the same way, some disaster comes and leaves like a storm and you’re left alone, surrounded by the destruction. And all your fond memories are still there, but sometimes the ‘storm’ will never let you look at them the same way.
