from Dan Young of This Providence
My Sweet Lord by George Harrison - Recently this has been the song I cling to most on tour. If you have the time, you should have a listen to it (I’m listening to it right now). It soothes me, helps relax me: CLICK HERE TO LISTEN TO IT
Tour can be difficult sometimes, being away from home over half the year isn’t ideal. I’m sure there are those of you who wish you were away from home that much, but not me. I like to be in one place, it helps me wrap my head around what the hell is going on. The movement isn’t always as fun as you might think…but then again, sometimes it is. It sure beats being in high school! (Hang in there, all you disgruntled students). After all, I do get to play music with my best friends every day. Also, I have seen a good amount of filthy (and a few pristine) venues scattered all over the United States. Hell, I’ve even seen a handful of tourist-type attractions. I really can’t complain. Never the less, listening to music helps, and right now this brilliant Beatle is really doing it for me. (If, for some god forsaken reason, you’re confused right now, George Harrison was in The Beatles…duh!)
We’re only a month into 2010…wait, we’re already a month into 2010?! I sense this is going to be a great year for us. It already has been. I can’t really point to any specific reasons why, and that’s probably frustrating for anyone reading this, but trust me, 2010 is going to be a special year for This Providence.
I didn’t make any resolutions this year. I’ve found resolutions don’t help me much. The more rules I set for myself, the more I seem to try and break them.
How many of you reading this made new-year’s resolutions only to break them within a week or two?
