Scattered Thoughts.
This Providence has been touring since the summer of 2004. That’s 5 years now, and the great thing about touring now days is that we have so many good friends all over the country. In Florida there’s the ‘Irish Car Bomb Guy’, who, a year or two ago, bought the band a round or two of Irish Car Bombs after he was dragged to our show by his younger sister. Now every time we play Floriday he, his sister and now a new ultimate friend from his work take a few days off and come to the shows and make sure we have some drinks with them. It’s become one of my favourite parts of tour.
Anyone in Nashville notice how no one is really from Nashville? It seems that the majority of the population grew up somewhere else and moved there to pursue something new…probably music or something church related. Haha, which reminds me…. Last night we were sitting at a stop light on our way to get some quality, late night, Mexican food (Taco Bell) and there were two street signs pointing opposite directions. If you went right, you would drive Church St, on the other hand, if you decided to turn left, you would find yourself driving down Gay St. Each with a little arrow, it looked something like this:
[<—-Gay] [Church—->]
Made me chuckle a little and I wanted to get a picture, but alas, time did not allow. It’s a shame though, isn’t it, how much truth there is in this? I don’t want to get in any political or religious debates, but I thought it was something worth sharing and maybe pondering upon.
In other news I’ve been making good use of my time on this tour. So far I’ve watched the whole 4th season of ‘It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia’ and embarked on a new TV show that already has me hooked 4 or 5 episodes into it, ‘Dexter.’ I’ve also watched a good number of movies too.
Lots of song writing recently. I must have 30 ideas or so already. A few choruses, a couple of verses, a drum beat, a HUNDRED guitar riffs and maybe 15 ‘Sticky-Notes’ (it’s a Mac thing, you wouldn’t understand, PC) filled with lyrics and ideas.
