The Chevrolet Red Wings sponsorship has been around since 2015, and it’s now expanding. Chevy was recently named the official vehicle of the Little Caesars Arena, home of the Detroit Red Wings. This NHL team is one of the best in the business, attracting fans from around the country every year to see teams battle it out on the ice.
According to Chevy, the new sponsorship will include some changes to the iconic arena. For the 2017-2018 season, the arena will include a special Chevrolet Plaza on the west side of the venue, including giant screens and bowtie symbols throughout. This Plaza will also be used for the many community programs and concerts hosted in the arena. Chevy nameplates will appear throughout the arena, and the new designs are expected to improve viewing experiences.
“We have enjoyed a fantastic relationship with the Detroit Red Wings and it was an honor for Chevrolet to celebrate the historic final season with the team and the fans at Joe Louis Arena,” said Paul Edwards, US vice-president of Chevrolet Marketing. “We look forward to continuing to support the Red Wings and the revitalization of our hometown, the City of Detroit, as a landmark partner in the new Little Caesars Arena — a perfect complement to our partnership with the Detroit Tigers and presence at Comerica Park.”
Chevy will also now have a larger influence in District Detroit, one of the largest sport and entertainment developments in the country. Stretching a whopping 50 blocks through Detroit is the special district with theaters, various neighborhoods, and three professional sports venues. This location will be used to show more pre- and post-game events thanks to Chevy, including more coverage of the Red Wings, Detroit Tigers, and the Pistons.
We at Dan Young GM couldn’t be happier about the ever-expanding sponsorship work Chevy does.
