Here at Dan Young GM, we’re getting excited for the new 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. Here’s a look at just a few of the new and improved features you can expect from this popular pickup model.
Some 2019 Silverado models, including the popular LT trim, will come standard with a new 2.7-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. This engine delivers 310 horsepower and 348 lb-ft of torque. Higher trims will offer an all-new 3.0-liter Duramax® Turbo-Diesel engine. Also available: 5.3-liter and 6.2-liter V8 engines with efficiency-boosting Dynamic Fuel Management.
The new Silverado also boasts beefed-up towing and cargo capability. Its 4.3-liter V6 and two V8 engines can tow hundreds of pounds more than 2018 models. At the very top is the 6.2-liter V8, which can pull 12,200 pounds when equipped with the Max Towing Package. Meanwhile, although the new Silverado has shed some weight, it’s gained size at all levels. The short-bed configuration has room for up to 62.9 cubic feet of cargo.
The range-topping Silverado 1500 High Country offers several new premium features. Push-button start, active aero shutters, and LED exterior lighting are just a few of its standard amenities. The High Country also includes advanced safety features such as Lane Change Alert and Side Blind Zone Alert, along with a class-exclusive power tailgate.
